SALEM, Ore. -- The Hedgehog Welfare Society of Salem is now home to dozens of African pygmies rescued from a Texas hedgehog mill. Vicki McLean, the chief organizer for the Hedgehog Society, said hundreds of African Pygmy hedgehogs were discovered in "dirty, cramped and hot" conditions at an Arlington, Tex.-based company in December.
